Is Unlocking legal?
Unlocking your mobile phone is 100% legal. We use a non-intrusive unlocking method the same which is also used in original Samsung factory software.
What exactly is a simlock?
A gsm can be locked the SIM card is NEVER locked!!
The SIM itself is never locked: you can use it in any compatible unlocked cellular phone. There are 3 different kinds of simcards for mobile phones.
Two 2G cards; a 1.8 Volt version and 3.6 Volt version. All newer sims are 3.6V versions. Some real old phones (older then the year 2000) have trouble handling the new simcards. Next to this you now also
have the uSim(also referred to as 128k sim), this is a special simcard for UMTS phones and has more space to save contacts and text messages.
Different kind of locks.
There are different kind of simlocks, this depends on the brand but there are a couple common kinds of locks which are often used.
Sim lock -> Locked to 1 simcard
Operator lock -> locked to one operator (provider)
Password lock -> GID lock you have to have a code to unlock this lock.
Other locks are 'Wap lock', 'Mp3 lock'. Sometimes the names of the different locks are just different. For example; the term NCK code is same as network (operator) unlock code.
Note: a 'security code' or a 'user lock' is not a simlock! It is like a pincode only then not saved on the simcard but on your phone. This is usually a 5 digit number which the user of the
phone has to set. This code can however also be reset by SRS service.
